After New York’s June 23 primaries, a few of the Democratic party’s highest-profile and longest-serving House members could be picked off.
Rep. Eliot Engel, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee and has been in Congress since 1989, appears to be the most vulnerable member on Tuesday. His chief challenger, Bronx middle school founding principal Jamaal Bowman, has mounted a formidable campaign and has picked up a number of big endorsements from progressives, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren.
