Photographer Alicia Canter has been investigating how people have been coping with pregnancy and birth during the coronavirus lockdown, photographing doulas, and new and expecting parents
Alicia: “After my best friend gave birth at the start of March and a pregnant friend told me she was shielding, I started thinking about how people were coping with pregnancy and birth during lockdown. With women only allowed to have one birth partner and home births restricted for a time, I spoke to women and men about how having a baby during lockdown has been for them and their new families.
