LNP President’s position is ‘untenable’ Queensland Deputy Opposition Leader

Queensland Deputy Opposition Leader Tim Mander has told Sky News the party president’s position is untenable and there is a “conflict of interest” given his ties to billionaire Clive Palmer amid LNP leadership tensions.

Leaked internal polling has revealed Ms Frecklington would likely lose a number of seats at the next election.

She accused a number of people of white-anting her for promoting a number of women to key seats but stated she would “not be bullied by the backroom boys of the LNP”.

“It is disappointing that a few blokes sitting in the back room want things to go back to the way they were,” the opposition leader said.

“We’re asking the organisation to let us run the parliamentary wing”.

Mr Mander said there are people within the party organisation who “don’t understand the boundaries we have in the LNP”.

He said party President Dave Hutchison could have a “conflict of interest” if Clive Palmer runs candidates in the upcoming state election given Mr Hutchison is “in the employ” of Palmer.
