Far-right groups in the United Kingdom have indicated they will come out to protect statues against vandalism after a number of public monuments were targeted during previous Black Lives Matter rallies.
The declaration has raised concerns among police who believe statues could become flash points for violence.
Over the past few weeks, Black Lives Matter rallies have been held in Hyde Park, outside the American Embassy and also in Parliament Square.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has expressed frustration over anti-racism protests, saying the movement has been hijacked by extremists intent on violence and the public should stay away.
Scaffolding has been erected to protect statues of famous figures including Winston Churchill and Nelson Mandela.
