Labor has been ‘feigning support’ for the govt’s COVID 19 response

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says unlike its state counterparts, federal Labor has been trying to "sow confusion" about the Coalition's response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Labor has been critical of the government's decision to exclude some workers from its JobKeeper program, and its recent decision to revoke the program from childcare workers.

Mr Morrison said Labor's recent rhetoric shows it is only"feigning support" for the government's COVID-19 response.

"They oppose the very measures that they support. Each way on every issue has been the response of the Labor Party," Mr Morrison said during Question Time.

''Feigning, Mr Speaker, so much support for the government's response but taking every single opportunity to niggle and undermine for their own political purposes. This is disappointing."

''There are better examples and that has been exhibited by my colleagues who sit around the National Cabinet table, the Labor states who sit around that table.

''I have made it abundantly the JobKeeper is in place for the legislated period we have put it in place, which is until the end of September.''
