Sky News host Graham Richardson says the race issues which are rife in the US won’t go away soon especially given it would not be “in the top 100 of the issues that Trump thinks he’s got to deal with”.

Race protests and riots have spread across the globe following the death of unarmed African-American man George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.

“It’s going to be a full on search for peace in America on race issues,” Mr Richardson said.

“I think things are going to remain awful because poverty is entrenched in black communities”.

Mr Richardson told fellow Sky News host Chris Smith another cause of poverty in the African-American communities is because they’re “not part of” the ‘American Dream’ and “never have been”.

“There might have been a Civil War, there might have been a victory for those who abolished slavery, but they didn’t abolish poverty”.
