Strong winds and storm surge were reported in Pensacola, Florida, as Tropical Storm Cristobal was due to make landfall on the US Gulf Coast on June 7. The National Hurricane Center issued a storm-surge warning from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and warned that tropical storm-force winds were expected to spread along the northern Gulf Coast from central Louisiana to the western Florida Panhandle.
