Friends ‘weep unashamedly’ as Alan Jones retires from radio

Speaking of the retirement of 2GB presenter Alan Jones from radio, Sky News contributor Nicholas Reece said Mr Jones was “a gifted broadcaster, probably the best in the business”.
Sky News contributor Catherine McGregor spoke of her personal relationship with Mr Jones saying she “owes him a great deal” and “wept when he parted today quite unashamedly”.
“He’s a man who has always had an incredible generosity of spirit that is often unnoticed by others because he doesn’t trumpet his private acts of generosity and kindness,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“At one of the darkest points in my life I got a text or an email from him every morning without fail for about six months”.
“I won’t hear a word against him, I love the bloke”.
While Alan Jones’ radio career at 2GB officially ended on Friday, he will remain an important public figure in television at Sky News and as a contributor for News Corp newspapers.
