Protesters clashed with authorities for a third day in the city, setting buildings on fire and looting department stores as police fired tear gas to disperse crowds. Protesters, together with Mr Floyd’s family, are calling for the officers involved to be arrested and charged with murder. “We need an end to the lawlessness but this death was heartless and unspeakable,” Mr Kenny said. “We've seen this sort of race-based anger unleashed many times before in the US, and there's just no way to tell how long it'll last and how far it will spread”.
