New Opposition leader elected in NZ after emergency caucus meeting

New Zealand Opposition leader Simon Bridges has been replaced Todd Muller in an emergency caucus meeting, prompted by the National party's plummeting popularity.

Prime MinisterJacinda Ardern will face a new opponent at September's election.

Mr Muller said he was about what was best for individuals and their families and praised the Ardern government's response to the coronavirus pandemic.
