The United States' Secretary of Health has labelled the World Health Organisation's response to the coronavirus outbreak a costly "failure" on the first day of the online World Health Assembly. Alex Azar criticised the WHO for failing "at its core mission of transparency and sharing". In a veiled dig at China, Mr Azar said the "apparent attempt to conceal this outbreak" by at least "one member state" made a mockery of transparency obligations at a "tremendous cost for the entire world". "We saw that WHO failed at its core mission of transparency and sharing when member states do not act out of good faith," he said. Image: AP
