Beachgoers Form Long Line on Jersey Shore for Seasonal Beach Access Badges

almost 4 years in news

A line spanning several blocks formed at Belmar on the New Jersey shore on May 16 as would-be beachgoers waited to buy seasonal access badges ahead of the Memorial Day weekend. Belmar beaches require badges for admission beginning from the Memorial Day weekend. The crowd of people – most of whom were maintaining social distancing – can be seen in this drone video taken from near Taylor Pavilion on the boardwalk. Local media reported Gov Phil Murphy had recently announced that all beaches would be open in time for the holiday weekend following the earlier introduction of restrictions to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
