Sky News host Chris Kenny says a “particularly disturbing" situation arose in Sydney over weekend when a protester engaged in “the height of recklessness” by bringing her young child to a coronavirus demonstration. Over the weekend, Renee Altakrity brought her four-year-old son to a Sydney gathering protesting the government’s strict COVID-19 lockdown measures. Ms Altakrity was subsequently arrested and fined before eventually being re-united with her son. Mr Kenny said he found the episode “pretty horrible”. He said it’s clear the police “were acting within the law” but the problem “is that police are being forced to implement pretty onerous laws, a lot to the lockdown rules have been over the top”. However, he did say “the main problem here is the mother”. “If you want to be a radical, want to exercise provocative free expression, want to make a martyr of yourself, knock yourselves out, but please, please, leave the kids at home.”
