Stage one of the government’s roadmap to freedom will come into effect in NSW on Friday and will allow for outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people and up to five visitors to a single residence, both including children.

Rules on public activities will also begin to be eased as up to 10 people will be allowed at weddings and worship services, with outdoor equipment and outdoor swimming pools reopened under restrictions.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian reiterated in her announcement on Monday that anyone who was displaying flu-like symptoms should present themselves for testing.

Authorities will be relying upon data to determine when the state should move toward stage two of reopening.
