NSW and Victoria move the goal posts aiming for the ‘eradication of the coronavirus’

Sky News host Paul Murray says Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ “stoicism, (his) inability to be moved, moved people to tears today” as thousands of Victorian mothers were unable to visit their children on Sunday.

Unlike many of the state premiers, Mr Andrews refused to lift Victoria’s coronavirus lockdown restrictions in time for Mother’s Day.

“Daniel Andrews, I hope your proud of yourself because there were hundreds of thousands of mums who weren’t able to see their kids”.

“I hope you feel big and brave about yourself because you won”.

“The absurdity today in Victoria was that you could go to your hairdresser but you couldn’t go to your kids' place”.

Mr Murray said the NSW and Victorian Premiers have “decided to drag the chain” because they want to get to zero coronavirus cases but that is “not flattening the curve, that’s the eradication of the virus”.

“That’s not the plan that anyone signed up to”.
