A large crowd gathered on the grounds of the Washington State Capitol in Olympia on May 9 to protest against Gov. Jay Inslee and demand the relaxing of coronavirus-related restrictions, according to reports. Protesters carried signs such as: “Give me liberty or give me COVID-19,” “I don’t want free $$$ let me work” and “My constitutional rights are essential.” Many also carried Gadsden, or “Don’t Tread On Me,” flags. Local journalist Austin Jenkins of The Northwest News Network reported that Patriot Prayer’s Joey Gibson and State Rep. Matt Shea both spoke to the crowd, which local authorities estimated numbered approximately 1,000 people, Jenkins said. “This rally is a mashup of pro-Trump, anti mandatory sex Ed, anti income tax, term limits …. along with demand to end state of emergency and reopen the state now,” wrote Jenkins on Twitter.
