NSW Labor ‘can’t resist Chinese influence’

NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham says the Chinese Communist Party must look at recent comments made by a NSW Labor member and think "we've got a big hold on the Australian Labor Party".

Deputy Labor Party Whip in the NSW upper house Mark Buttigieg on Monday tweeted to the ABC's Q&A "Australia can ill afford to maintain its historical and biased preference for the US. China is our future".

Mr Latham said "what he's basically saying in the middle of a pandemic is Australia should ditch its relationship with the United States and go all the way with China".

This is the second time a member of the NSW Labor Right has made flattering comments towards communist China, and comes two years after fellow Labor Right member former Labor Senator Sam Dastyari quit politics over alleged ties with China.

"The fact that (Labor Right's) been infected by these lefties I've mentioned shows the cancer inside the Sussex Street machine".

Mr Latham told Sky News host Paul Murray the members of the NSW Labor Party "can't resist a bit of Chinese influence".
