A COVID-19 survivor who recovered from a dangerous complication after contracting the virus was relieved to return home to his family on April 27, a video shows. Warnell Vega, 33, from Harlem, works for the New York City school system’s program to feed students. He works handing out lunches to kids who depend on these meals when school is in session, the hospital said. He was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism, a dangerous blood-clotting issue associated with COVID-19, when he arrived at Mount Sinai Morningside hospital on April 19. Doctors at the hospital said he was lucky to have survived.
