On January 1, 1980, Pink Floyd were top of the UK charts and, even though the cracks had started to show, disco was still king. Madonna was just a drummer in a band called The Breakfast Club, no one had heard of Whitney Houston and MTV was still called Sight on Sound. Ten years later, everything had changed.
