It has taken 12 years for the ABC to ‘realise there’s a problem’ with Q&A

While the prime minister is acting on medical advice by suggesting schools should reopen, the ABC is "running a program that says he's deliberately trying to put teachers in harm's way" says The Australian's Gerard Henderson.

On one of the ABC's flagship programs Q&A on Monday, a question directed at Education Minister Dan Tehan spoke of Prime Minister Scott Morrison putting teachers in "harm's way" because of his insistence schools should reopen in full to students.

"If you're saying the prime minister is trying to put teachers in harm's way - and the ABC let that question go (through) - then you have to say that all the medical advisers to the prime minister are also saying that," Mr Henderson said.

He told Sky News host Andrew Bolt the ABC has been saying it is trying to reform Q&A, but "it apparently took them 12 years to work out there's a problem there".

He also raised the point that no parents were getting a view on the program and other ABC programs.

"What you've got here is a very strong view presented by the ABC … the view of the teachers".
