Many establishment left-wing feminists have been "oddly silent" about sexual assault allegations levied against presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, according to Sky News contributor Daisy Cousens. Tara Reade alleges she was assault by Mr Biden in 1993 when she was working as a staff assistant in his Senate office. Biden has denied the allegations in a statement released by Kate Bedingfield, his deputy campaign manager and communications director. "Vice President Biden has dedicated his public life to changing the culture and the laws around violence against women. He authored and fought for the passage and reauthorization of the landmark Violence Against Women Act. He firmly believes that women have a right to be heard — and heard respectfully," Bedingfield said. "Such claims should also be diligently reviewed by an independent press. What is clear about this claim: it is untrue. This absolutely did not happen." Ms Cousens told Sky News the Left have a history of "forgiving" senior men who have been accused of sexual assault. "For the left it's all about politics," she said. "A number of women have come forward and accused Bill Clinton of rape...but again radio silence from the Left." These people they don't care about women, they care about politics, they care about power." Image: Getty
