‘Covid Is a Lie’ San Diego Demonstrators Protest California Coronavirus Lockdown

about 4 years in theaustralian

Anti-lockdown demonstrators took to the streets of San Diego on April 26 to protest against California lockdown measures introduced to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The renewed protests came a day after several anti-lockdown activists were arrested on San Diego’s Moonlight Beach for violating the state’s stay-at-home order. California governor Gavin Newsom introduced the measure on March 19. Under the order, all of the state’s residents were required to stay at home except when exercising or completing necessary tasks. In this video, filmed near Pacific Beach in the city’s Avalon Plaza neighborhood, protesters can be seen waving US flags while motorists can be heard honking their car horns in the background. One man can be seen holding a sign that reads, “Covid is a LIE.” As of April 25, California had 39,254 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 1,216 were being treated in intensive care.
