Prime Minister Scott Morrison records the second highest approval rating of any prime minister since 2008 with a 68 per cent satisfaction rate according to the latest Newspoll.

Prime Minister Morrison is leading Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese as better prime minister 56-to-28, while the two-party-preferred vote is even at 50-50.

Mr Albanese’s approval satisfaction rate sits at 45 per cent, while 34 per cent of voters are dissatisfied with his performance.

Advance Australia director Liz Storer told Sky News host Paul Murray she is “glad” the prime minister can see these numbers because “goodness knows he’s been through the ringer this year”.
