Twenty-nine new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in B.C. in the past 24 hours, says the provincial health officer.
Dr. Bonnie Henry said a total of 1,824 people have tested positive for COVID-19. Four additional people have died, bringing the number of deaths in B.C. due to the virus to 94.
Henry said one of the new deaths was in the Fraser Health authority, while the other two were in Vancouver Coastal.
Of those who have tested positive, 1,092 are considered to be fully recovered, she said. One hundred and three people are in hospital, including 44 in intensive care or acute care units.
There was one new confirmed case reported in the Vancouver Island health region, for a total of 111. There have been a total of three deaths in the region.
There have been 755 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 760 in Fraser Health, 156 in Interior Health and 42 in Northern Health.
Henry said there was one new outbreak at a long-term care facility in the Interior Health region, and two new outbreaks in acute care facilities.
Outbreaks have been declared over at 10 facilities, after they saw no new cases over two incubation periods, Henry said. In all, there have been 347 confirmed cases associated with care facilities, including 217 residents or patients and 130 staff, she said.
There is a new community outbreak at the Superior Poultry processing plant in Coquitlam, where there have been two new cases. Henry said the plant is a "sister plant" to the United Poultry facility, which has had 29 positive cases associated with it.
Seventy-eight inmates at the Mission Correctional Institution have tested positive for the virus, Henry said.
Not everyone who might have COVID-19 is tested, and actual cases are likely higher than the confirmed cases.
