Volunteer fire officials in the Pubnico community of Nova Scotia formed a procession to honor the 22 victims of the Portapique mass shooting on Saturday, April 18. Local resident Kelly Hartley shared this video of members of both the East and West Pubnico Volunteer Fire Departments driving with sirens on in a tribute on Wednesday evening, April 22. CTNEWS quoted the Nova Scotia Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) as saying the shooting’s death toll was now 22. CTNEWS said it was “one of the deadliest massacres in Canadian history.” The victims included a pregnant health care worker, a 17-year-old, and a RCMP officer, Constable Heidi Stevenson, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed.
