COVID 19 to place ‘states getting away with blue murder’ under greater scrutiny

Sky News host Peta Credlin says the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in a situation where “for the first time in a long time people are having a good look at state leaders”.

On Tuesday the home-schooling portal in Queensland crashed for the second day in a row resulting in calls for the state’s education Minister Grace Grace to be stood down.

Ms Credlin said, “most people in most states know one or maybe two people in state politics they could recognise,” but as Australia has moved into national lockdown state leaders have come under increasing scrutiny.

“I really hope out of this we hold our state government to account and in Queensland you’ve got that opportunity come October,” she told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.

“Too often the states get away with blue murder and too often they get bailed out by the commonwealth because it becomes a political sore and the commonwealth wants it to go away”.
