Trump ‘did what others wouldn’t’ and put the World Health Organisation ‘on notice’

about 4 years in news

Since US President Donald Trump put the WHO “on notice” the organisation is suddenly “talking about getting tough” on the cruel and dangerous wet markets it was defending days ago says Sky News host Chris Kenny.

President Trump recently suspended funding to the WHO after he accused the “China-centric” body of “severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus”.

He said the WHO would lose its $400 million US contribution as he launched an investigation into the organisation’s ties to China.

Mr Kenny said Trump’s “attack on the WHO has already sparked some changes at the organisation itself”.

“Suddenly the WHO is talking about getting tough on those disgusting, cruel and dangerous Chinese wet markets that it was defending just days ago”.

“And it's promising a full review of its handling of the coronavirus pandemic”.
