Sky News host Paul Murray says a recent report suggests the "footy looks like it's coming back" in Australia.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported the NRL Commission is set to sign off on an NRL return, with an start earmarked for May 21.

The 2020 NRL season was suspended following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Australia.

Mr Murray said, "as people are locked up at home, we need to start being able to squint and see the end of this".
