Australia’s coronavirus cases surge past 2,400

Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia has now exceeded 2,400, with the bulk of infections coming from NSW and Victoria.
There are at least 1029 cases in NSW, while in Victoria there are 466 cases, including 47 in regional areas.
As the infection spread, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews warned it is likely more business restrictions may be needed to combat the spread of the disease.
