Social Distancing Doesn’t Stop ‘T Rex’ From Wishing Ohio Girl a Happy 16th Birthday

An Ohio woman in a T-Rex costume sang and danced outside a family friend’s home to liven up a girl’s 16th birthday while still practicing social distancing measures. Kristi Cooper said her daughter, Franki, had plans to go see plays on Broadway in New York City for her 16th birthday, but the trip was canceled due to tightening coronavirus restrictions. Now the Coopers have been stuck at home in Powell, Ohio, practicing social distancing to help lessen the spread of the new coronavirus. Cooper told Storyful her friend, Nikki Randle, wanted to “brighten” Franki’s day by coming over to wish her a happy birthday on Saturday, March 21. This footage — filmed by a home surveillance camera and other video filmed by Cooper — shows Randle’s spectacular birthday song and dance. “Like most 16 years old [Franki] was a little embarrassed but it meant a lot,” Cooper said. Cooper described Randle as someone who “loves to do crazy things.” With Randle’s birthday coming up in April, Cooper said she’ll have to “really think outside the box” to return the favor. “It’s seriously the little things right now that mean so much,” Cooper said.
