Spain is expected to extend its state of emergency for another 15 days as the country's COVID-19 death toll soars.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez addressed the nation on Sunday following a meeting with health officials and said he expected parliament to approve the request to extend the order that has already been in place for a week.
It comes as the country’s death toll from the virus surges to 1,720.
