NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced all non-essential services across the state will be closed in 48 hours as the state grapples to slow the spread of coronavirus. Ms Berejiklian said in a statement: “Supermarkets, petrol stations, pharmacies, convenience stores, freight and logistics, and home delivery will be among the many services that will remain open.” The Premier said schools will be open on Monday, but she did not say whether they will remain open past Tuesday. Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell said Prime Minister Scott Morrison has spoken with Ms Berejiklian and he is “comfortable” with her government's stance. The move comes as Victorian officials will push for schools to be closed from Tuesday and if the national cabinet does not endorse this position, the state will make the arrangements on its own.
