News Corp is producing its print and online news remotely as Australia battles the coronavirus. The Advertiser in Adelaide produced its print and online editions completely remotely last Tuesday and Friday's The Courier-Mail was produced from the spare bedrooms and kitchen tables around the state. Courier-Mail Editor Chris Jones told Sky News his reporters will work remotely whenever they can and they’ve split into two teams for one in the office and one out. “Really it’s just about keeping our routines down pact so we have a conference at 7.45am where we talk about the news that’s happening in the morning and we are sticking to that… then we go through other news conferences of the day," he said. “We’ve got Google hangouts set up where we are sharing all the information that we need to… and also sharing pictures of the pets as they walk past our work stations". Mr Jones also said working from home is a “very different way of operating” and he is learning the “etiquette” quickly for video calls. “It has its challenges but it’s also quite a nice way to operate as well, you feel closely to your colleagues when you get to check out their spare bedrooms, kitchen tables and lounge rooms,” he said.
