The video, taken by Tina Yazdani, a reporter with City News, shows people lining up to enter the store but stopping to wait multiple feet behind the person in front of them. Border restrictions between the United States and Canada aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19 are expected to come into effect at midnight on Friday, March 20, while political leaders in both countries have continued to ramp up their response to the pandemic, CBC reported. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed the coming border restrictions in a Friday morning briefing, and went on to outline an industrial strategy to allow companies already making sanitizers, masks, and other equipment to scale up quickly, while mobilizing others to shift production to items that are in high demand.
