Universal Studios Ride Line Sparse Ahead of Coronavirus Related Closure

The line for a popular Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios was left nearly empty on Sunday, March 15, as the theme park in Orlando, Florida, prepared for precautionary coronavirus closure the next day. This video, filmed by a Universal Studios employee on Sunday, shows the waiting area at King’s Cross Station for the Hogwarts Express train ride, which connects Universal Studios and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Universal Orlando Resort said its theme parks would close at the end of the day on Sunday and remain closed through the month of March. Universal Orlando’s hotels and Universal CityWalk, a restaurant and entertainment complex, were still open, according to the company. Walt Disney World Resort theme parks and water parks were also closed through the month of March. There were 137 cases of COVID-19 reported to the Florida Department of Health as of Monday.
