Hospitals ‘willing to participate’ in clinical trials to discover coronavirus ‘treatments’

Professor David Paterson from the University of Queensland's Centre for Clinical Research has spoken of the "world's first clinical trial," which is set to take place in hospitals around Australia to combat the deadly coronavirus.

There are now more than 250 cases of coronavirus in Australia while the nation's death toll has risen to five after two people died in New South Wales overnight.

Professor Paterson told Sky News host Paul Murray, "my team are working on treatments for this COVID-19," while saying, "it's been amazing, the collaborative spirit in Australia" in facing the virus.

He said they are working to find "what is the best drug treatment for our patients with COVID-19".
