March 16, 2020. NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard alongside chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant speaks to reporters in Sydney, saying the number of confirmed confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state has risen to 171. Mr Hazzard says there have been 37 new cases in the 24 hours to 11am on Monday which he described as a "dramatic increase". There are currently 1282 cases under investigation, with 25,500 people tested to date. "The number of people who are being impacted in our community is still relatively small," Mr Hazzard says. "Having said that, it is starting to look as if there will be a fairly substantial ... exponential increase in numbers over the next few weeks." (AAP Video/Michael Wade)
