The latest Newspoll published by The Australian shows Prime Minister Scott Morrison as the preferred prime minister compared to Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese 42 per cent to 38 per cent respectively.

Labor still hold a 51-to-49 lead in the two-party-preferred vote over the government, while both parties received a boost to their primary votes with Coalition up one to 40 per cent, and Labor up two to 36 per cent.

The Greens’ primary vote is down one to 12 per cent, which Sky News host Paul Murray said is “because we’re not talking climate change as much as we had been”.
