Two men found dead in the NSW Hunter region

Police have reported the discovery of two bodies found at a residence in the New South Wales Hunter region.
The two men were found late on Saturday afternoon near Newcastle after officers responded to reports of an armed man in the area.
The men had suffered gunshot wounds and were both believed to have been in their 40s.
Detectives are continuing to investigate.
