A police officer in Greenwood, Indiana, came face-to-face with a cat with a serious attitude while he tried to break up an argument in a convenience store parking lot on Wednesday, March 4. According to reports, Officer Andrew Buxton responded to reports of two women arguing outside of the Village Pantry store on Madison Avenue early Wednesday morning. When Officer Buxton arrived, a feral cat wandered into the area and “began howling at officers and the two female parties involved.” Police said the officer ignored the cat and tried to escort one of the woman to a police car so she could get a ride home when the cat, “unprovoked,” jumped onto Officer Buxton’s right leg and scratched him, causing him to bleed. The cat continued to screech at the officer and followed him until he got into his squad car. The cat was captured at the scene by animal control officers. Officer Buxton went to Franciscan Health Indianapolis for treatment. Credit: Greenwood Police Department via Storyful
