The Australian’s Troy Bramston says US Democratic candidate Joe Biden produced a "demolition" job on his competitors at the South Carolina primary on Sunday.

Joe Biden’s ailing campaign received a much-needed boost after the former Vice President won the South Carolina Democratic primary on Sunday in a dominant showing.

The Biden campaign will be hoping he carries his momentum into the crucial Super Tuesday contest, where voters in 15 states and territories will cast their ballots in the Democratic presidential nomination race.

Almost one-third of the available national delegates will be up for grabs on Super Tuesday, which will take place on Wednesday, March 4th Australian time.

"This was an amazing comeback for Biden," Mr Bramston told Sky News host Gemma Tognini.

"He beat Bernie Sanders by 30 points, that is a demolition".
