Manchester City came into this game 12 points behind Liverpool and will be relieved to have claimed victory, but there is a nagging sense Pep Guardiola’s side are struggling to find their form. Jürgen Klopp’s men had earlier beaten Crystal Palace to open up a margin that would have been near-insurmountable had Chelsea not been beaten here.
