Michael Paul Beasley, Jr. (born January 9, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Kansas State University for one year before declaring for the NBA draft in 2008. He is regarded as one of the best freshman college basketball players of the 2000s. Though ambidextrous, he shoots left-handed.Beasley was born in the Prince George's County town of Cheverly, Maryland.
