Martin Hanzal (Czech pronunciation: [ˈmarcɪn ˈɦanzal]; born 20 February 1987) is a Czech professional ice hockey center currently under contract with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the first round, 17th overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.Hanzal was the Phoenix Coyotes' first round draft pick, 17th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft from hometown team HC České Budějovice. He then moved to North America to play for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) in the 2005–06 season.
