Jacob Joseph Arrieta (born March 6, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He stands 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) tall and weighs 225 pounds (102 kg). He previously played for the Baltimore Orioles. He has won the Cy Young Award and is an All-Star.The Orioles selected Arrieta in the 2007 MLB draft, and he debuted for the Orioles in 2010. The Orioles traded Arrieta to the Cubs in 2013. In 2015, Arrieta won the Cy Young Award, was the MLB wins leader, pitched a no-hitter, and set a major league record at 0.75 earned run average (ERA) for the lowest second-half ERA.
