He has been a member of the Parliament of Tripoli.Born in Tripoli, Sarraj comes from a prominent family of the city. His father was a government minister during the Libyan Monarchy and was one of the founders of modern Libya. Trained as an architect, during the Gaddafi era he worked in the Housing Ministry.
