David Squires

David Squires (born 1957) is a Canadian composer and the dean of the School of the Arts, Media and Culture at Trinity Western University. He received a B.Mus. (Performance) from University of Western Ontario in 1979, a M.Mus. (Composition) University of Toronto in 1981, and a Ph.D. (Composition) State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 1993. He has been on the faculty at TWU music for 15 years and was a worship pastor for 11 years. His recent compositions include "Where Angels Dance", a concerto for violin and orchestra premiered in April 2007, "God Ever Breath", for mezzo-soprano, flute, piano, string orchestra, premiered in November 2005, and "Table Songs", a communion liturgy for flexible instrumentation, premiered in November 2004.
