Daniel New (born February 23, 1989) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman. He is currently playing with the Florida Everblades in the ECHL.New attended Providence College where he played four seasons (2008 – 2012) of NCAA hockey with the Providence Friars men's ice hockey team, scoring 8 goals and 31 assists for 39 points, while earning 157 penalty minutes, in 128 games played.April 2, 2012, New began his professional career when he signed with the Springfield Falcons, and skated in two games with the American Hockey League team before the end of the 2011–12 AHL season.
