José Carlos Montoyo Díaz (born October 17, 1965 in Florida, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican professional baseball coach and a former Major League player. After eight successful seasons as manager of the Durham Bulls, the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays in the International League (2007–2014), Montoyo was a candidate for the Rays' 2015 managerial position and was ultimately brought on as the team's third base coach.As an active player, Montoyo threw and batted right-handed; he stood 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall and weighed 170 pounds (77 kg).
