Aaron J. Gilbert or "AJ" (born 1979) is a Cuban-American artist best known for his psychological and symbolic explorations of human interactions and relationships in paintings and prints. He is based in Brooklyn, New York.Gilbert was born in 1979 and raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He attended Pennsylvania State University and in 2000 received an Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Gilbert returned to school at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and in 2005 received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting. In 2008, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Yale University in Painting.
